The Veterinary Technology Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) specialization at Eastern Florida State College is a career-oriented degree that builds on skills acquired in the workplace or through previous coursework.

Applicants to the Applied Health Sciences - Veterinary Technology Specialization must be credentialed veterinary technicians/nurses (CVT, CVN, LVT or RVT). Students with an Associate in Science or Associate in Applied Science degree or higher currently working in a veterinary practice without the credential/certification may qualify for EFSC's Advanced Technical Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management. The Veterinary Technology BAS specialization planning guide outlines upper-division courses in animal nutrition, pharmacology and infectious and zoonotic disease detection, diagnosis, prevention and control. The program also covers veterinary practice management including personnel management, accounting and finance, marketing, legal requirements, and budgeting and planning.
