The Program Development/Software Development Bachelor's Degree specialization at Eastern Florida State College prepares students for entry-level positions involving general computer software applications.

Potential career positions include Software Developer, Computer Support Specialist, Database Administrator and Web Developer.

Students will gain a fundamental understanding of data structures and modern programming languages, and demonstrate the ability to design and write quality computer programs that are well organized and documented.

Designed with the working student in mind, classes are offered in flexible formats to include day, evening, online and blended courses that are part classroom and part online. The degree is also Financial Aid eligible.

While the Program Development/Software Development specialization offers a 100% online course option, bachelor program courses can fill quickly. To finish a program designated with a 100% online option by taking only online courses, students need to register in a timely manner to ensure they have a seat for the online course offerings of their choice. The same guidance applies to access for face-to-face courses on campus. Work with your advisor as needed when planning and be sure to check the important term dates and student email for current information about registration start dates.

Before completing this BAS degree, students will need to earn a grade of "C" or higher in the two courses below. Students may have taken these before entering the program, but if not, an advisor can help with course planning.

• STA 2023 - Statistics

Students are admitted to the program in the Spring, Summer and Fall Terms following the general Bachelor's Degree online application process.

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirement for entry into this program. AAS degree holders who intend to transfer into the BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.
