The exciting field of event planning and management is a fast-growing career — with the U.S. government predicting an 11% increase in job opportunities by 2026, above the average for all other occupations. Meeting, convention and event planners coordinate all aspects of events and professional meetings, arranging locations, transportation, logistics and other details.

EFSC's program is located on Florida's beautiful Space Coast, less than an hour from Orlando which has ranked as the top U.S. meeting destination for five years in a row.

Students in the Event Planning and Management track will complete core business coursework as part of their Organizational Management Bachelor of Applied Science degree — plus focus on event planning-intensive courses including hospitality and event management, convention services, social event planning, and advanced event and exposition management.

The admissions process for the Event Planning and Management specialization follows the general bachelor's degree enrollment steps. Students can apply to begin Spring, Summer and Fall terms which start in January, May and August each year. This track can be earned through a 100% online option and the Organizational Management common core courses required for this degree can be taken online or on campus.

The degree is intended to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce in a mid-level management position. Graduates will demonstrate mastery of leadership and management skills associated with successful organizational managers in public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

This BAS program is designed for students who already hold an Associate in Science degree (A.S.), Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) or higher from a regionally accredited institution, including recent graduates and those with experience in the work force. An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirement for entry into this program. AAS degree holders who intend to transfer into the BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.
