This bachelor's program on Florida's Space Coast prepares graduates for careers in the tourism and hospitality industry. Opportunities span the globe and are right in our backyard, from the world-renowned theme parks in nearby Orlando to cruise lines that sail out of Port Canaveral. The World Travel and Tourism Council reports that 10 percent of global employment is connected to its industry, including jobs at airlines, hotels and resorts, ecotourism and outdoor recreation, theme parks and cruise lines.

Students in the Travel and Tourism track will complete core business coursework as part of their Organizational Management Bachelor of Applied Science degree — plus focus on specialized courses including hospitality and event management, cruise line operations, tourism, theme park and attractions management.

The admissions process for the Travel and Tourism Management specialization follows the general bachelor's degree enrollment steps. Students can apply to be admitted to Spring, Summer or Fall terms, which start in January, May and August each year. The Travel and Tourism Specialization can be earned through a 100% online course option and the Organizational Management common core courses required for this degree can be taken online or on campus.

The degree is intended to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce in a mid-level management position. Graduates will demonstrate mastery of leadership and management skills associated with successful organizational managers in various sectors of the tourism and travel industry.

Bachelor program courses can fill quickly before each term when registration begins. Students need to register in a timely manner to ensure they have a seat for the on-campus or online course offerings that are part of their specialization. Work with your advisor as needed when planning and be sure to check the important term dates and student email for current information about registration start dates.

This BAS program is designed for students who already hold an Associate in Science degree (A.S.), Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) or higher from a regionally accredited institution, including recent graduates and those with experience in the work force. An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirement for entry into this program. AAS degree holders who intend to transfer into the BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.
