Accounting Technology Degree

The Accounting Technology Associate in Science degree prepares graduates for careers in a wide range of fields in business, financial and governmental organizations such as accounts receivable or payable, bookkeeping, credit and collections, auditing and payroll.

The A.S. degree curriculum includes a balanced combination of courses in general education, business-related subjects and core accounting skills. You'll learn to prepare and manage financial information using appropriate business software, and how to make sound decisions based on that information. Courses include how to prepare individual and governmental tax forms, including income, payroll and sales taxes. As you learn the principles of corporate finances, you'll also learn how to create and maintain a personal budget. Technical electives allow you to customize your focus in areas such as business, marketing, entrepreneurship and sales.

The Accounting Technology A.S. degree also prepares students to pursue additional education in the accounting and business fields, including moving on to EFSC's Organizational Management Bachelor Degree, which includes an accounting specialization. You can also start with the accounting-related certificate programs listed in the accordion below and use those to build toward the A.S. degree.

Apply for the A.S. degree or certificates through the general EFSC application process. Reach out to the program advisor for assistance in planning your program.
