Computer Programming & Analysis Career Pathways

The Computer Programming & Analysis A.S. degree at Eastern Florida State College is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in a software development environment.

Students enjoy hands-on learning, attentive instructors and fully equipped labs with the most up-to-date software.

Computer languages are introduced in a progressive delivery starting with the structured programming used in procedural language and then progressing to object-oriented and visual languages.

Technical electives allow students to customize their program of study and extend their knowledge of multi-threaded applications, database applications, client server applications, advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, mobile application development in a variety of development environments, and the Extensible Markup Language (XML) standard.

The Common Core for Computer Technology Programs 

The Computer Information Technology A.S., Computer Programming & Analysis A.S. and Network Systems Technology A.S. degrees share six common courses.

The Core Courses, and other degree-specific requirements, are outlined in this program's curriculum, with the course titles in the curriculum hyperlinked to provide more details, including any course prerequisites.

Core courses provide an introduction to the computer applications used on the microcomputer and training in programming language, procedural logic and design.

Not all courses are offered every semester. Students are encouraged to register for their required computer degree courses when offered.
