The tools for a culinary career
IMPORTANT NOTE: EFSC will be closing its Culinary program and will no longer accept new students into the Culinary Management A.S. Degree effective January 2024. The last remaining application deadline was September 18, 2023 for a Fall Term 2023 program start. A teach-out schedule of the 13 major courses will be offered between Jan. 2024 and Dec. 2024. Both existing and new students who start in Fall 2023 should plan accordingly to ensure the major culinary courses are completed within the 2024 calendar year. General education courses required for the degree will continue to be offered on each campus and online.
Prepare for a rewarding, fun, fast-paced career with Eastern Florida State College's Culinary Management Associate in Science degree. Courses provide a solid foundation in culinary nutrition, cooking, baking and sanitation skills — plus you'll learn about kitchen and dining room operations and management, catering and buffet management, food and beverage cost control and purchasing, personnel management supervision, and menu and marketing management.
The Culinary A.S. is a limited access program. Students can apply to start in Fall Term 2023, the last start option for the program which is closed to new students starting with the Spring 2024 Term. See the note at the top of this page about how the program must be completed in 2024. and hands-on courses from the culinary curriculum are taught on the Cocoa Campus.

With more than 40,000 food service workers employed in the Central Florida region, a culinary degree offers a unique opportunity to enter this fast-growing field. Career opportunitites include culinary manager, food and beverage manager, pantry cook, executive chef and many more.
