Engineering Technology A.S. Degree
The original blueprint for engineering programs adopted by many community/state colleges in Florida!
The Engineering Technology (ET) Associate in Science degree program and its associated certificates provide the training necessary to work in the high-tech and advanced manufacturing job market in the Florida Technology Corridor. Students enjoy hands-on learning, attentive instructors and fully equipped labs with the most up-to-date equipment.
Engineering Technology is an open enrollment program with application through EFSC's general application process. Get in touch with a program expert from our contact box if you have questions. When applying for the A.S. degree program, students choose from three specializations: Advanced Technology; Advanced Manufacturing; or Electronics.
First year standard core courses provide training and skills needed in any industry and include: safety, quality and manufacturing methods. The content prepares students for nationally recognized certifications.
Second year Engineering Technology students will see more of a focus on courses connected to their chosen specialization. Program electives can lead to college credit certificates, including Robotics and Simulation Technician, CNC Machinist Mechatronics and Composite Fabrication and Testing. Engineering Technology A.S. Degree (ETAS)
Students applying for the Engineering Technology A.S. can choose from three specializations:
Advanced Technology; Advanced Manufacturing; or Electronics.
The three Engineering Technology A.S. degree specializations share a first year standard set of courses.

Distinguish yourself in the workplace with an Industry Certification. The Engineering
Technology program is aligned with the MSSC-CPT certification and the NABCEP certification.

CNC Machinist College Credit Certificate (CNCC)
CNC Machinist program and course information
- 12 credit hours
- Cocoa Campus location
- No placement test
- No pre-requisite courses for the first two courses
- Use certificate courses to build toward completing the A.S. degree in Engineering Technology elective credits
Composite Fabrication and Testing College Credit Certificate (CFCC)

Engineering Technology Support Specialist College Credit Certificate (ESCC)

Mechatronics College Credit Certificate (MHCC)
This 30-credit certificate offers a sequence of courses designed to prepare individuals for careers in the maintenance, diagnostics and repair of industrial automation machinery. Mechatronics is a field that marries mechanical, electrical and computing systems to support advanced manufacturing.
The certificate can be earned as as a stand-alone certificate and credits may apply to the Engineering Technology A.S. degree.

Robotics and Simulation Technician College Credit Certificate (RSCC)
This 12-hour certificate prepares students for initial employment in the growing automation industry with an occupational title such as Robotics Technician, Automation Technician, Product Development Technician, or Industrial Engineering Technician. The certificate can be earned as as a stand-alone certificate and credits may apply to the Engineering Technology A.S. degree.

Internship Course Information
The Internship course, ETD 2941 is an elective credit option for the A.S. degree in Engineering Technology.
Be prepared! Completion of intermediate and several advanced level Engineering Technology courses is required.
Internships are coordinated by the Career Planning & Development Center.
Credit for High School Courses
If you recently completed a sequence of Engineering Technology courses through Brevard Public Schools you may be eligible to receive college credit.

Alignment with Industry
EFSC and the other Florida State College system institutions share standards for courses and industry certifications relating to engineering technology and manufacturing. The Florida Advanced Technological Education Center (FLATE) partnered with industry, colleges and the Florida Department of Education to design a statewide Engineering Technology A.S. (Associate in Science) Degree Program. Course concepts align with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) and IPC Certification for the electronics industry. EFSC is a testing site for MSSC, IPC and other industry certifications.
