Preparing for an automation career

Take your interest in robotics to a whole new level as you prepare for entry-level employment in the growing automation industry. If you loved the robotics team in high school, imagine getting paid to work as a robotics or automation technician or designer in a computer-integrated manufacturing environment. This hands-on program trains students to design, operate, test and repair robotic equipment systems.

During coursework at Eastern Florida State College's new Robotics Lab on the Palm Bay Campus you'll learn to build autonomous, radio and computer controlled systems that translate into practical applications, such as a robot created to inspect sewer pipes, a robotic arm to paint a car or even a spacecraft automated to explore Mars. Courses also focus on Python, C and Assembly programming languages so you learn coding from a robotics perspective.

The 12-credit hour robotics curriculum offers convenient afternoon and evening courses that can accommodate working adults who want to enhance their advanced manufacturing skills for career advancement.

The Robotics College Credit Certificate can be earned as part of the Engineering Technology Associate in Science degree or as a stand-alone certificate. Application to the program follows the general EFSC admissions process and does not require a separate application.

Students interested in robotics can also check out our EFSC Robotics Club which meets Thursdays from 1 to 2 PM at the Palm Bay Campus Robotics Lab, Building 1, Room 153-E.

Reach out to the program contacts if you have questions and prepare to fall in love with robotics!
