EFSC classes normally held in Building 20 on the Cocoa Campus are canceled tonight because of an A/C issue. This only impacts classes held in this one Cocoa Health Sciences building, home to EFSC's dental programs.

Make a Difference in Your Community

Turn your passion for improving the lives of others into a career that helps address issues caused by poverty, inadequate housing, aging, unemployment, domestic violence and mental and physical illness. Eastern Florida State College's Social and Human Services A.S. degree prepares students to work at non-profit organizations, for-profit social service agencies, and state or local government assistance agencies.

Students in the A.S. program must specialize in Domestic Violence Services or Aging Services, each a nine-credit hour program that is also available as a stand-alone certification that prepares students to work with people in family settings, group settings, and as individuals under the supervision of a social worker, psychologist or other trained professional.

Program Curriculums

The Social and Human Services programs are considered open-access, available through EFSC's standard admissions process. Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor while planning their program courses.

EFSC was the first college in the state of Florida to offer Domestic Violence and Aging Services Certificates, developing the programs to meet unique local needs along Florida's Space Coast. Since their development, these areas of study have become available to students state-wide.
