How to Apply for Dental Assisting Program

NOTE: Students must be 18 years old at start of Fall term.

The Dental Assisting program at EFSC has two program options:

OPTION A: Daytime Program

The Daytime Program application deadline is April 8 each year and classes begin in May.

OPTION B: Outreach Program (Online and Evening Labs)

The Outreach Program application deadline is June 8, and the program starts in August. This is a 16-month program. Students complete coursework online and are required to attend face-to-face lab classes two nights per week. During the third and fourth semesters, students must also attend at least two clinical days per week during the Monday-Friday work week. The curriculum may be completed while working in a dental office or at other employment.

Program Selection:

For both program options, selection for admission is guided by a point scale. The applicant must be recommended for acceptance by the Selection Committee before entering the program (See Selection Criteria).

Note: Students accepted in the Dental Assisting Program are required to complete and pass a Background check, a drug screening, and comply with the immunization requirements.
