State Officer Certification Exam

The Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center is a fully-operational Pearson VUE Certified Testing Center — contracted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to provide the computer-based State Officer Certification Exam (SOCE) to graduates of three program disciplines: Law Enforcement, Corrections and Correctional Probation.

The process has been simplified to better serve potential officers and to enable future employers to gain testing results sooner to expedite hiring decisions.

For those in east central Florida, our role as a testing center offers many benefits, including:

  • Students no longer have to travel a long-distance to take the exam
  • Eligibility and exam scheduling is simplified
  • No lag time between graduation and testing – exam results provided immediately
  • Agencies hiring decisions made in more timely way

SOCE Testing Info

Cost for the exam is $150 and must accompany the exam application. The testing fee must be made via a Money Order payable to the Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center. It can be dropped off in person or mailed to:
