Paralegal Studies A.S. Degree

ABA Approved

Paralegal studentsThe Paralegal program at Eastern Florida State College is a limited access program which requires a separate application process in addition to the general EFSC online application. The program can be started in Fall or Spring Term and follows EFSC's priority application deadlines as outlined on the paralegal program application process page.

This American Bar Association (ABA) approved Paralegal Studies program is your gateway to a rewarding career as a legal professional. The demand for paralegals is on the rise and the profession is projected to grow faster than other occupations through the year 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. Notably, the paralegal profession is diverse; paralegals are male and female, of various ages and backgrounds, some with prior degrees in different areas of expertise, and even those seeking a career change.

The goal of this program is to educate, train and prepare students for a paralegal career. Our curriculum includes three specialization choices and emphasizes practical skills and knowledge in both substantive and procedural law that is designed to enhance the student’s ability to succeed in the legal profession.

During the semester-long internship, students will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world legal experience while gaining work-related references and networking opportunities to enhance marketability as a legal professional.

Program graduates are eligible to become certified through successful completion of the certification examination from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
