Accreditation at Eastern Florida
Eastern Florida State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and associate degrees, as well as specialized certificate programs. Questions about the accreditation of Eastern Florida State College may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC’s website.
The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution's non-compliance with an accreditation requirement or standard. Day-to-day inquires about the College, such as admission requirements, should be addressed to the appropriate department.
EFSC was granted initial accreditation by SACSCOC in 1965 and received reaffirmation in 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2014.
The most recent reaffirmation process conducted in 2013 and culminating in 2014 included two major parts: Compliance with more than 90 academic and administrative standards, and implementing a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to enhance student learning and success in the classroom and workplace. The QEP includes more tutoring, connecting students with the many resources available to help them, and offering workshops on such topics as time management and study and organizational skills to aid students in class and on the job.
The timeline below highlights important milestones in the reaffirmation journey.
