Scholarships from Sources Outside Eastern Florida State College
In addition to EFSC Scholarships, many organizations offer scholarships for students pursing higher education and Eastern Florida State College strongly encourages students to apply for such assistance. All outside scholarships must be reported to EFSC’s Office of Financial Aid.

Brevard County/Regional Scholarships
Below is a list of scholarships relevant to Brevard County. Please check the organizations’ websites for additional information, application instructions and deadlines. Scholarship granting organizations wishing to have their scholarships posted below can email the relevant details and web address to finaid@easternflorida.edu for consideration. Only local scholarships will be posted due to the large number of requests received.
American Advertising Federation Space Coast – Bill Hill Scholarship Award
Scholarship for students in studies related to advertising, marketing, communication,
film, website development or other related studies.
Antique Auto Club of Cape Canaveral
For talented, graduating Brevard County high school automotive technology students.
Balda Family Foundation
For academically promising, at-risk and underserved youth.
Brecht Scholarship Fund
This scholarship for Brevard County students is administered by the University of
Florida, however the scholarship is not limited to use at the University of Florida
and is available to EFSC students. The 2023-24 application linked above has a posted
deadline of June 15, 2023, but UF will accept applications until June 30, 2023.
Brevard County Civilian Military Community Relations Council
For Brevard County military and civilians.
Brevard Federated Republican Women
Four scholarships awarded each year, including one established to support young people
choosing to attend a trade school after high school.
Brevard Heart Foundation
For nursing students, physician assistant students, or nurse practitioner students.
Brevard Schools Foundation
Scholarships for graduating high schools seniors of Brevard County High Schools or
Central Area or South Area Adult Education.
Brevard Veterans Memorial Center and Council
For active or retired military or their dependents or ROTC students
CCH Auxiliary High School Scholarships
Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital Scholarship committee will award three $1,500
scholarships to three high school students who are Central Brevard residents who want
to continue their education in the healthcare field. Cape Cavaveral, Cocoa Beach,
Cocoa, Merritt Island, Port St. John, Rockledge, Sharpes and Viera are considered
to be Central Brevard for this scholarship. The 2023 application is due by April 1, 2023.
City of Palm Bay
The Palm Bay Firefighters Community Benevolent, Inc. and the family of Jeff Burgin
have established a scholarship for students studying firefighting to honor Jeff's
memory.
Community Foundation for Brevard
Provides scholarships for Brevard County students, including several specifically
for EFSC students. Use each link to see complete eligibility requirements for that
scholarship. The 2022 application process will open in September 2022.

- The Geraldine L. Cabic Scholarship (Must be a student in a Nursing & Health Science Program)
- The Culpepper Nursing Scholarship (Must be a student in EFSC's Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing RN A.S. degree programs)
Scholarship offered to students in EFSC's Veterinary Technology Program
Election Supervisors Scholarship
The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections Scholarship takes applications
each year at all Brevard County Elections Office locations: Titusville, Viera, Melbourne
and Palm Bay. Three $1,200 scholarships are presented to Political Science, Public
or Business Administration, Journalism or Mass Communications majors who have completed
at least two years of junior college or undergraduate work.
Garden Club by the Sea
For students who are Brevard County residents pursuing careers in the fields of, but
not limited to, Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, Environmental Science, etc. that
support the club’s objectives of conservation, beautification and education. Applications
are accepted December through February.
Health First - CCH Auxiliary Gladys Mosher Award
This scholarship was established by Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital Auxiliary
in 1996 to honor the memory of Gladys Mosher, a former teacher and past president
of the Auxiliary, and all other auxiliary members who have gone before and given dedicated
service to the hospital. The $1,500 scholarship is awarded to two Brevard County residents
attending college who are continuing their education in the healthcare field. The 2023 deadline to apply is April 1, 2023.
Jess Parish Medical Foundation
For students studying nursing or planning a career in the medical field.
Lucille H. Kahn Scholarship
Funded through the EFSC Foundation in conjunction with the Melbourne Branch, American
Association of University Women, this scholarship is for three-fourths of the total
cost of education (less federal financial aid received). Open to an EFSC associate
degree graduate who also graduated from a south Brevard County school who is pursuing
a bachelor's degree at any U.S. college or university.
Military Officers Association of America – Cape Canaveral Chapter
For juniors and seniors (Bachelor Students if at EFSC) in college who are either descendants
or wards of active duty or retired members of the Uniformed Services of the United
States. Applications are accepted between January 1 and June 15 each year.
Reginald E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship
For graduating high school seniors with financial need.
Society of American Military Engineers Space Coast
The Space Coast SAME will award up to four $2,500 first-year scholarship grants for
academic achievement to top-ranked high school seniors.
Space Coast League of Cities, Inc.
A scholarship for up to $2,500 to Brevard County Residents who are enrolled at a Florida
college or University with a major in Public Administration, Public Planning, Human
Resources, Accounting, Finance, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering/Science,
or Leisure Services. Contact the organization for current information.
Space Coast Jazz SocietyFor students who plan to go to college and study music with an emphasis on jazz.
For Students Planning to Transfer upon Graduation
The following scholarships might be of interest to students planning to transfer institutions after obtaining their Associate degrees from EFSC.
UCF Transfer Scholarship
UCF is offering a scholarship to students transferring directly from a Florida Public
Community College or State College to UCF.
UCF Diversity Enhancement Scholarship for Transfers
The Diversity Enhancement Scholarship for Transfers (DEST) is a competitive program
for qualified Florida residents, which is awarded on the basis of financial need,
academic merit, both need/merit and other selection criteria including past academic
achievement, quality of personal statement regarding declared major and strength of
references. You must adhere to the application guidelines in order to qualify for
priority consideration. *The program also gives priority to students who declare a
major in one of the STEM disciplines: fields of science, technology, engineering or
mathematics. Call 407-823-2716 to inquire about the most current DEST information.
Florida State University - Social Work Majors
Brevard County students planning to pursue a degree at the FSU College of Social Work
can apply for several scholarships funded by Brevard County philanthropists Guy M.
and Delores Spearman, including the Guy M. & Delores Spearman Scholarship, Spearman
Graduate Veterans Scholarship and Spearman Social Work Veteran Field Scholarship.

Florida Tech Transfer Scholarship
The Florida Tech Transfer Scholarship can be up to $14,000 per year if the student’s
cumulative GPA is 2.8 or higher at the university level. This scholarship may be combined
with the Florida Tech Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for an additional $2,500 per year
if the student applies and is admitted to Florida Tech and was a member of Phi Theta
Kappa. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership must be submitted at time of application.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
This is the largest private scholarship for community college transfer students in
the country.
Lucille H. Kahn Scholarship
