Computer and Internet Safety at EFSC

The Eastern Florida State College Center for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (CCDF) is a multi-disciplinary center offering resources and events and community outreach to increase education and awareness around cybersecurity and digital forensics.

National Security Administration Center of Academic Excellence

The National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated Eastern Florida State College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Read more about this designation and what it means for the CCDF and the College's students. The NSA and DHS jointly sponsor the CAE-CD program with the goal of reducing vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise.

Our Mission
  • To educate our students using the latest tools and techniques in the area of cyber defense and digital forensics.
  • To empower our students, faculty, staff and community with a mindset around Internet safety and privacy.
  • To build a strong cyber security foundation across all degree disciplines at EFSC.
  • To establish a set of core values of integrity, honesty and respect within the cybersecurity community.
  • To create an open learning environment with real-world, hands-on activities for our students, faculty, staff and community.
  • To bridge students between learning and the real-world applicability of information systems.

EFSC Technology Internet/Ethics and Acceptable Use Policy

Eastern Florida State College is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information assets of the institution to ensure that all regulatory and operation requirements are fulfilled. View our full Technology Mission and Internet/Ethics Policy.

Cyber Range

The Center for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics operates a Cyber Range located on the Palm Bay Campus (Building 3, Room 203). The range is an air-gap network, which simulates a real-world enterprise network. It is used for network traffic simulations, security threat analysis and pentesting. Community outreach events are held in the Cyber Range, as well as student competitions and professional development workshops.

EFSC students have the opportunity to volunteer in the Cyber Range to develop hands-on, technical experience in networking, system administration, web development and security analysis. For more information, contact Nicole Dyess at dyessn@easternflorida.edu.
