Veterans Educational Benefits Payments and Verification

See the chart below for VA Educational Assistance Allowance guidelines. During the summer terms, the number of credit hours required for full-time payment varies according to the number of credit hours and duration of the summer sessions. Visit the enrollment verification and benefits certification web page for details on those topics. Also be sure to visit the Post 9/11 Withdrawal or Drop impact page for important information about the financial impact of dropping or withdrawing from a course after the first day of class.

Break Pay

Effective for enrollment periods beginning on or after August 1, 2011 payment for any breaks between any terms is prohibited for any GI Bill program. Breaks during a term or session (such as Spring Break for example) will be paid.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VETERANS IN A CLOCK HOURS CAREER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: Veterans or dependents of veterans using VA educational benefits for a Career and Technical (CTC) certificate program (once known as a PSAV) cannot be certified for any online or hybrid courses. The VA requires all certificate programs to be certified in clock hours so only in-classroom classes can be certified for VA educational benefits.
