Restored Entitlement Program for Survivors (REPS)

This restores certain Social Security benefits that were reduced or terminated by the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981, Public Law 97-35. The REPS benefit is payable to certain surviving spouses and school children who are survivors of members or former members of the Armed Forces who died while on active duty before August 13, 1981, or died from disabilities incurred in or aggravated by active duty before August 13, 1981.
