Promotions at EFSC

Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win prizes. Explore the list below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter, and more information about each promotion.

Super Smash Bro's Tournament (Palm Bay)

ELIGIBILITY

The Super Smash Bro's Tournament (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one EFSC class during the term in which the event takes place who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM ET and ends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 4:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

Students must have signed up and checked in at the event by 2:00 PM ET on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Students who sign-up but do not check-in by 2:00 PM ET on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 will be disqualified. 

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students must sign-up using the sign-up sheet available in the Student Lounge on the Palm Bay Campus until 2 PM on April 25, 2023, or email by that time to the Titan Gaming Club President at talley.kiara@titans.easternflorida.edu or richardsp@easternflorida.edu with their name and student number using their Titans student email.

The Tournament is open collegewide, and will be held at the Titan Hub on the Palm Bay Campus, Building 1, Room 100.

WINNER SELECTION

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (top player in each category will win) from among all eligible entries. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Tuesday, April 25, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

All tournament sets will be a best-of-3 series. The format of the tournament depends on the amount of entries. There is a single or double elimination possibility, bracket will be made the day of the tournament and will be randomized. At the end of each fight, the top player moves on the next round; the bottom player will be sent to the loser bracket where if the player loses again, they will be eliminated from the tournament. 

The final round will consist of the top two (2) players of both the winner and loser bracket and will be best 3 of 5, platers will choose a map that they both afree on. If players cannot agree on a stage, there will be a coin flip to determine the stage. At the end of the match the players final winner of the winner's bracket and loser bracket will compete in the grand final for first and second place in the best 3 of 5.

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s) will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide their social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

All prizes must be picked up in Palm Bay Campus, Bldg. 1, Rm. 100 (250 Community College Pkwy SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909) within ten (10) days from the time of award notification.

Earth Day Drawing (Palm Bay)

ELIGIBILITY

The Earth Day Drawing (the "Drawing") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students, taking at least one class, who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Drawing and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

DRAWING PERIOD

The Drawing begins on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 9:00 AM EDT and ends on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 4:00 PM EDT (the "Drawing Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Drawing Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should check in to the Earth Day Celebration at the Palm Bay Campus, Bldg 2, Patio during the Drawing Period. Eligible students will receive a ticket to enter the drawing. Students will put their name and phone number on the ticket for notification if drawn. Students can also email Ancel Robinson during the Drawing Period and indicate that they wish to be included in the Drawing.

Students are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Drawing. One ticket will be drawn for each prize (two prizes in total). Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Theatre Club Talent Show 

ELIGIBILITY

The "Theatre Club Talent Show (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students, taking at least one class, who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 12:30 PM ET and ends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 8:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students will sign up for an audition by contacting Selena Ambush at ambushs@easternflorida.edu, calling 321-433-7384, or by emailing a filmed take of material for audition to kearns.david4@titans.easternflorida.edu. Auditions will be held at the Cocoa Campus Simpkins Center, Bldg. 4, Rm. 131 on: 

  • Monday, April 10, 2023 at 12:30 PM

The top acts will be selected to perform on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The dress rehearsal for the show will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 12:30 PM in the Cocoa Campus Simpkins Center, Bldg. 4, Rm. 142. All students performing in the show must attend this rehearsal. 

WINNER SELECTION

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (highest number of points given from judges) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Wednesday, April 26, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Writes of Spring Poetry Slam

ELIGIBILITY

The Writes of Spring Poetry Slam (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students, taking at least one class, and who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 5:30 PM ET and ends on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 9:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

You will have up to 3 minutes to perform an original peom (competitive option) or a favorite poem by another author (non-competitive option).

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should do one of the following before Tuesday, April 18:

On or around Wednesday, April 19, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (greatest number of total points) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Wednesday, April 19, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.
